Liberia
Jesus in the Streets
How the youth of Liberia are finding Jesus in their communities
No matter your country, your color, your region, your background—wherever you are—Jesus is everywhere.
Our Encounter gatherings, held on the first Friday of every year, are a time we set aside to bring young people together. We reach out to those on the streets, sex workers, motorcycle riders—the marginalized. We create an open space for worship, using music to draw them in. Then, we share the Word, and prayer seals it, helping them find their place in God.
Every Encounter moment is a genuine encounter. Thousands have testified to how these gatherings have transformed their lives and fueled their personal growth throughout the year.
It's remarkable to witness the surge of worship and dedication to God among young people in our society, environment, and continent. We live in a world where young people are hungry. On every street corner, you see them on fire for God, especially Gen Z. They all want to know God and uplift His name.
There are stories of young people whose lives were redirected by a divine encounter. We have countless stories of transformation. There's a true reawakening of God's Spirit and power among young people in Liberia and beyond. We see this in our churches as well, with young people leading Bible studies, prayer meetings, and small groups. It's truly amazing how God is using them to reach their peers.
To churches around the world reading this, I urge you to invest in the future. Invest in these young people. Build their character and equip them for their callings, whether as Christian doctors, lawyers, or any other profession. Help them walk in alignment with God's purpose.
Regardless of your age, background, or profession, Jesus is everywhere, and He's ready to use you. Simply commit yourself to Him.
